CoAdopt
Lab

We study how humans and organizations adopt and adapt to emerging technology. Real data, rigorous methods, findings that matter.

What CoAdopt Lab Is

CoAdopt Lab is IBSAUD's research lab where we take real data — from public datasets or industry partnerships — to study how humans and organizations adopt and adapt to emerging technology.

CoAdopt Lab produces the empirical work that grounds IBSAUD's broader mission in evidence.

Research Focus Areas

04 Areas
01
Technology Adoption Behaviour
How individuals and teams decide to adopt — or resist — new technologies. Patterns, friction points, and the social dynamics underneath.
02
Organizational Adaptation
How organizations restructure workflows, roles, and culture in response to technological change. Where friction concentrates, and why.
03
AI Integration & Impact
The specific dynamics of AI adoption — how AI tools change decision-making, labour patterns, and institutional knowledge within organizations.
04
Emerging Technology & Society
Broader societal-level patterns in how communities and institutions absorb and respond to waves of technological change over time.

How We Work

Research
Approach

CoAdopt Lab works with publicly available datasets and where possible, industry data partnerships. We prioritize rigorous, reproducible methods and transparent findings.

01
Question Identification
We start with real, open questions about how humans and organizations are actually behaving in the face of technological change — not questions manufactured to fit available data.
02
Data Acquisition
Public datasets, industry partnerships, and where applicable, primary data collection. We document provenance and limitations transparently.
03
Analysis & Findings
Rigorous analysis producing findings that are grounded, reproducible, and honestly stated — including what the data cannot tell us.
04
Publication & Impact
Studies and reports published under IBSAUD. Where findings are policy-relevant, we make the connection to application explicit.
